Stabe virtuously renegotiates the line – the elementary particle of the medium drawing and painting. He adds them to surfaces, creating effects, not normally ascribed to these medias – they flicker, shimmer, shine in the eyes of the viewer to seduce their imagination to mystic illuminations.
Stabe’s meditative graphic of lines emerges through ballpoint pen on paper. Dense rows appear by modifying pen pressure and overlapping differently coloured inks, resulting in a sublime colorit. The horizontal lines iridesce concrete, distorted, as well as abstract subjects and surround them with a mysterious aura.

Claus Georg Stabe bio
Claus Georg Stabe (born in 1984) studied painting at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and at the Academy of Fine Arts Krakow, Poland. This was followed by a masterclass with Professor Neo Rauch in Leipzig. His works have been presented in various international exhibitions and are represented in several public and museum collections.
