Each individual installation by MICHAEL KRENZ is, taken by itself, a formula.
It is only when loaded with its specific setting that this formula finds its realization and spread; it starts telling, provoking and interpreting.
The new assemblages by THOMAS SOMMER are self-contained microcosms. In oak wooden boxes, in the manner of Wunderkammer or diorama, is assembled what seems important to the artist. Sommer plays with depth of focus and direction of motion of the beholders’ view as well as with the subjects; the latest works polarize: nature mysticism or specific artefacts- in the three-dimensional collages, nothing is definite.
