Microcosm, archival box, assemblage. With a neat external shape and even measurements of 30 x 65 x 15cms the wooden boxes are a perfect example of craftsmanship. The front panels are hermatically sealing what is unloading inside: random found objects, valuables, curiosities, symbolically charged and artictic items are ironically and purposefully combined or fragmented in unsettling ways. Sommer’s threedimensional collages are a series of irritating trials and offer everything that doesn’t want to be definite.
